Patients will need to be fasting for at least 5 hours before they can perform laboratory analysis, specially if they will be doing cholesterol or diabetes screening. Other procedures that require fasting include abdominal ultrasounds, this will allow the technician to obtain a better image of the patients gallbladder and thus make a more accurate diagnosis.
If the patient will be doing a Abdominal, Gallbladder, or Pelvic Ultrasound, they should drink 8-10 cups of water prior to the exam. This will allow the technician to obtain better quality images for a more accurate diagnosis.
Medical imaging procedures can be done in any medicaly certified imaging center. The main concern is whether your insurance covers your study. If the study is covered by the insurance or the patient will paying for the procedure out of pocket,an ultrasound procedure can be done at any of our clinic locations.
