Unhealthy Foods To Avoid (High in Total Fat/ Saturated Fats/ Oil)

  • Processed meats (bacon, bologna, hot dogs, corned beef)
  • Fatty meats (pastrami, steak, ribs, ground meat, sausage, liver, kidney) 
  • High Cholesterol Content (shrimp, lobster)
  • Dairy Products (whole milk, Swiss cheese, American cheese, cheddar, cream cheese, nondairy coffee creamers or whipped topping, yogurt)
  • Oils (butter, coconut oil, bacon drippings, lard, palm Oil)
  • Dressings & Spreads (ketchup, mayonnaise, ranch, Italian dressing, thousand Island, blue Cheese, peanut butter)
  • Pasta (egg noodles)
  • Fast Foods (hamburgers, fried chicken, tacos, fries, cheesy pizza)
  • Trans Fats (hard margarines, snack crackers, cookies, chips, and shortenings ( all contain partially hydrogenated vegetable oil)
  • Snacks (croissants, crackers, white breads, muffins, cakes, pastelitos, ice cream, chocolate, pop corn, donuts)
  • High Fructose Corn Syrup (ketchup, sodas)
  • Avoid Canned Foods
Healthy Foods To Eat (No more than two Servings or 5 oz (140g)/day)

  • Skinless Chicken or Turkey (organic is better)
  • Pasta, beans, peas, nuts, rice, egg white
  • Small portions (duck, pork, lamb, lean beef (low fat content), veal, fish, marisco, egg yolk, avocado, olives, corn bread, whole grain rice, plain potato in oven)
  • Dairy Products (fat free or low fat milk (0 - 1 % fat), low fat cheeses, low fat yogurt)
  • Oils (soft tub margarine, corn, vegetable (canola or olive), sunflower, peanut
  • Restaurants (broiled sandwiches or chicken without skin, salads with low-fat dressing, and foods that aren't fried, limit bread intake(dip in olive oil, no butter)
  • Healthy Salad Dressings ( vegetable oil, vinegar or lemon juice, salt and pepper, herbs, spices, fruit, other flavorings, mustard, light dressings)
  • Snacks (whole grain bread, wheat bread, wheat crackers, whole wheat pasta, Low fat baked goods, use light spreads or toppings
  • High Portions (fresh or dry or frozen fruits (smoothies), uncooked vegetables)
